TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE 101 WELLNESS PROGRAM DAY 1

I’m 8 hours into Phase 1 of Dr Lui’s controversial and well publicised 101 Wellbeing Program. 8 hours of 336 hours so only a mere 328 hours to go of what he refers to as the Detox and Cleanse phase. I shall refer to it as “Hell on earth – ppppplllllease can I just have a water cracker??” phase.
Your treatment is individually tailored but is basically a combination of acupuncture, Chinese massage, cupping and ingesting a lovely herbal concoction breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh, did I mention that was INSTEAD of breakfast, lunch and dinner? Yes, it does sound confronting (and I’m feeling a little confronted right now but focussing my attention on the end result) but listening to Dr Lui and the way in which he explains his treatment process, it actually does make common sense.
Our organs get sluggish from exposure to the chemicals, bad food choices and stresses of modern day life. We were not meant to work in a sedentary state, put chemicals in or on our bodies or be exposed to toxic fumes nor were we meant to eat the many overly processed foods that we constantly allow ourselves to consume.
Our ancestors fasted and let their bodies rest between hunting or gathering food and they were constantly moving to survive. Put simply our bodies were not designed to sit for hours on end or consume large amounts of manufactured foods (not that I eat manufactured foods but I do have a penchant for caffeine, chocolate and red wine) and something has to give. Our organs start to age quicker and instead of cell renewal and rejuvenation, mutations can occur and can manifest into all sorts of modern day conditions and diseases.
So, I’m going in with an open mind and an open heart so I can get the very best out of this change.... stay tuned for further details.
