Traditional Chinese Medicine 101 Wellness Program Day 21

WELL, I'VE TAKEN A BACKWARDS STEP.... MY YARRA VALLEY WEEKEND WAS A BIT OF A CATALYST FOR A FEW DAYS OF CONSTANT EATING AND CONSEQUENTLY MY BODY'S RETAINING FLUID AS IT NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO DEAL WITH A LARGE VOLUME OF FOOD TOO QUICKLY.
The weekend started off well with me only eating a small amount of protein and veggies for our restaurant dinner on the Sat night... but then there were breakfast provisions in our little cottage ... yes, eggs and bacon with freshly baked bread!! AND A COFFEE MACHINE!!! I haven't relaxed with a long brekky, cup of coffee and morning papers without kids' interrupting me for 4 years!!! How am I supposed to refuse this little piece of paradise? Then we went to our favourite winery to just pick up some wine. We knew what we wanted so didn't think we'd need to taste any... but then, a morning swig of bubbles just seemed so appealing. Oh, wait, they have new wines for tasting. Oh bugger it, let's try the list. We were the only customers in there too so we were getting a lot of attention and the conversation was running freely... (and so was the wine)
Off we choofed home and were greeted by the children and my Mum who'd gone to the effort of making and icing a chocolate cake for Todd's birthday. Looks like I can pretty much write off today then. We also have a family dinner at a local restaurant tonight for Todd's birthday. I didn't time this whole Wellness Program thing too well! So, what did I eat? A big helping of goat Ragout. On a positive note, I avoided the pasta and pizza! (why did we choose an Italian restaurant, why, why, why?!)
So, to then try and get back to not eating much was almost near impossible. My digestive organs started getting used to large amounts of food again and I have to say, getting a taste for food again was my downfall. 2.5kgs up on last week. I have to be focussed this week if I'm going to get back on track. At least I know what I have to do and I've basically put myself back a week..... my advice here is if you feel like indulging, think to yourself "is it worth the expense, time, heartache of putting myself back 2, 5 maybe even 7 days" 9 times out of 10, probably not so try and remain focussed. That's my motto for the coming week!!!
